J. F. Fitzgerald opened it doors in 1953 under the ownership of Charlie Willin and his uncle, Jack Fitzgerald. Jack and Charlie set up shop when W & J Sloane closed their upholstery and drapery department. Both men came into the business with years of experience from their time at Sterling Furniture. Over the years, Jack and Charlie's children have also worked for Fitzgerald, learning from the bottom up.
In 1995 Charlie’s sons Jamie and Michael, took control of the business, both being there since 1976. Along with the help of a few of their sisters, MJ, Joann and Mary Pat, they continue the tradition their father and uncle instilled in them to make the finest upholstered furniture obtainable.
Today the company has approximately 20 employees, many of whom have been with the company for over 15 years. With many employees sharing familial relationships such as father/son and cousin/cousin, J.F. Fitzgerald's continues to maintain a strong family culture and an equally strong work ethic. At J.F. Fitzgerald's, there is great pride taken in producing the highest quality, handmade furniture products.
